Entertaiment is entertainment that is derived from a wide range of sources. Some of these sources are traditional forms of entertainment such as theatre, film and music. These traditional sources are based on familiar themes that have the potential to cross over many different media. These familiar forms have proven to be resilient in the face of change and are an essential part of the entertainment industry.
According to Bates and Ferri, “Entertainment is understood objectively, involves communication between text and audience from an external stimulus, offers pleasure, requires an audience to exist, and takes place in a passive form.” This definition clearly defines the scope of the term Entertaiment.
