Entertainment is a broad term that can encompass many types of activity, from watching movies and TV shows to playing video games, to listening to music, attending live performances or reading for pleasure, and even participating in sports and other activities. The word entertain is often associated with amusement and lightheartedness, but the same activities can also serve serious purposes – as in ceremony, ritual, celebration, or social criticism through satire. Entertaiment can take place on any scale, from a private evening for two to events for thousands of people or the entire world.
