The fall 2011 issue of T E News began with the question: “What is Entertaiment?” This article will examine the complexities of the topic by exploring the many forms that entertainment can take. Ultimately, what constitutes entertaining will be determined by who you are and how you feel. What may be considered entertainment to one person, could be considered work to another and may even be considered below human dignity by someone else. The word entertain originates from the Latin intertenere, which means to hold inside. It also derives from the Indo-European root ten, which means to stretch. This is a theme that will run through the entire issue of T E News.
